Wedding Day

Civil Ceremony – Chiesa di S. Ignazio – July 13th at 5:30 PM

The civil marriage will be celebrated with a government official in Italian and it will include vows and exchange of the rings. An interpreter will translate everything from Italian into English. After the ceremony, the bride and groom, the father of the bride and the father of the groom will say a few words in their own languages (translations will be available in English, Italian and Dutch).

Afterwards, we’ll take a group picture. The bride and groom will then have their pictures taken, while the guests walk to the bus.

Bertram’s Survival Tips: Understanding a Sicilian Wedding

The first thing to know about Sicilian weddings, is that people go all the way in dressing up for it. As a general guidance, see picture below.

Everything is about food at a Sicilian wedding, although we will make sure that you’ll end up on the dance floor. Throughout the evening you’ll be served four courses, containing meat, fish and vegetables. Expect big portions, so come hungry (in other words: don’t eat beforehand)!
